Retention policy
Decide how long the organization needs session details and governance records before changing either retention period. Review both schedules under Settings → Privacy & Data → Retention Policy.
Session data retention
This period covers captured session details, including prompt content and step details. Records become eligible for scheduled deletion after the period expires. Expiration does not mean deletion has already occurred.
Governance record retention
This period covers decision outcomes, policy results, oversight status, and record-source details after captured session details are deleted. It must be at least as long as session-data retention.
Enforcement status
The page reports whether append-only storage is enforced or the organization’s retention policy locks changes. Locked values remain visible but cannot be edited.
Review a change
Enter the new period and review the date in the impact preview. Check which records fall outside that window before saving.
Reducing retention requires confirmation. Records outside the new window can be deleted during the next scheduled cleanup and cannot be restored. Increasing the period later will not recover deleted records.
Confirm the required retention period before reducing it. Previously exported evidence is not changed by a new policy value.
