Set up an AI agent

Start with the portal URL assigned to your organization. Ask your administrator if you do not have it. Dedicated deployments use customer-specific addresses.

1. Open agent tools

Sign in to the customer portal. Open More tools → Agent tools → Connect. The page shows the MCP address for that deployment and explains the scope for the signed-in role.

Use Copy MCP URL for manual setup, or open the deployment’s agent setup instructions for copy-ready commands.

2. Read the deployment instructions

For headless setup, open the prompt URL published by the deployment. A typical address is:

https://<your-veriproof-portal>/agent-setup/prompt.md

Give that Markdown file to your development agent. It contains the exact MCP, API, ingest, documentation, and sign-in addresses for the deployment.

You can inspect the machine-readable discovery document at:

https://<your-veriproof-portal>/.well-known/veriproof-configuration

The discovery document contains service addresses and supported versions. It contains no keys, tokens, connection strings, tenant records, or private infrastructure identifiers.

3. Complete sign-in

The CLI and MCP server use your VeriProof user sign-in. Follow the provider configured for your portal. Enter credentials only in that provider’s browser page, never in an agent chat or terminal.

Your role and application access still apply. Application keys are only for SDK ingest and policy evaluation calls.

4. Check the setup

veriproof auth status veriproof doctor

Restart your agent after adding the MCP server. Ask it to call get_my_context and check the returned role and application scope. Stop if either is unexpected. A connection alone does not confirm access to the records you need.

If a step fails, use Troubleshooting.
