Python SDK

The VeriProof Python SDK supports CPython 3.11 through 3.13. It checks policy before a governed action runs and before its result is released, records session evidence, handles signed human review, and supports cooperative cancellation of an active governed run through an asyncio.Event.

Adapters install their required Core SDK dependency automatically.

What the core package includes

  • Veriproof.from_env() and Veriproof(api_key, ...) for one application-scoped client.
  • await vp.govern(action_name, input, action, ...) with typed results and a review_required checkpoint.
  • HumanReviewRuntime with save, receive, resume, and reconcile, plus SqliteReviewStore and InMemoryReviewStore.
  • Generated industry vocabularies under veriproof_sdk.verticals.* with .fact() on each value.
  • VeriproofTestHarness and TestPolicyDecision for network-free tests.
  • SensitiveDataSanitizer and transport errors under veriproof_sdk.advanced.

Start using the SDK

Open Tools and SDKs in the VeriProof portal, select Python, and follow its installation instructions. Start with veriproof-sdk, then add the adapter for each framework your application uses.

Set the application SDK key as VERIPROOF_API_KEY. Hosted VeriProof uses https://ingest.veriproof.app. VeriProof Private uses the ingest API base URL for that instance as VERIPROOF_ENDPOINT. The same endpoint handles session ingest and policy checks.

Use the Python core guide for setup and governed-action examples. Check SDK categories and framework coverage for what each adapter controls and what stays with the core governed-action helper.
