Human ReviewReview and decide

Review and respond

Open the assigned request, review its evidence, and record your response in VeriProof. An email can tell you that work is waiting. It does not replace the review or grant permission to decide.

Know why the item is assigned

Assigned reviews can contain different kinds of work:

  • Response needed means an application used the VeriProof SDK to pause protected work and request an authorized response.
  • Policy escalation review asks an eligible reviewer to inspect a session linked to that request. Its queue result does not replace the final response.
  • Session investigation asks an eligible reviewer to inspect other policy behavior or evidence.

An administrator chooses the eligible reviewers. VeriProof checks each person’s review permissions and application access before assigning work.

  • A Business Owner can review assigned work for applications they can access.
  • A Decision Reviewer gets a limited business decision view for selected applications.
  • A Compliance Officer can receive work that needs compliance authority.
  • A Governance Engineer can investigate policy behavior. They can record a final response only when their assigned role allows it for that application.

Use Open queue when queue work needs attention. Use View review history when that queue has no open work. Open the session to check who owns the final response and whether the application acted on it.

A record marked Closed automatically has no queue decision. Its saved reason explains why it closed.

Complete a review

Open the assigned work

Sign in to VeriProof and open Inbox. Use the review link only after confirming the expected organization and application.

Claim the review

Claim the review when you are ready to respond. Only an eligible reviewer can claim it, and only one reviewer can own it at a time.

Review the evidence

Check the proposed action, why it needs review, and what your response will allow the application to do. Provided by application identifies the business summary and facts supplied by the application. Verified by VeriProof and Captured by VeriProof identify policy and session evidence. Open additional session evidence only when it is needed and your access permits it.

Technical details are available to administrators and developers when a delivery problem needs attention. Reviewers do not need them to respond.

Record one decision or the requested answers

Choose the decision that matches the evidence. A review can ask for up to 12 fields. Review Sent to the application separately from the Private review note: the private note stays in VeriProof and is not sent to the application. The response and reviewer are recorded in the review history.

Before submitting, check which text will reach the application. For example, put a requested correction in the response, not only in a private note. Confirm that the response was saved before leaving the review.

Decide from Slack

If your organization connected Slack, the VeriProof app sends you a direct message for each review assigned to you. Unless your organization turned it off, you can decide from that message. You can approve, reject with a reason, select Respond to fill in the response the review asks for, or select Ask the application to send a question. Approving a high-priority review asks you to confirm you checked the details. The decision is recorded in VeriProof, noted as made in Slack, and reaches the application the same way.

When a review needs something Slack can’t collect, or details your organization keeps out of Slack, select Review in VeriProof and finish it here. For a group review posted in a channel, select Claim review on the post; the review then arrives in your direct message. The app’s Home tab in Slack lists your open reviews, overdue and urgent ones first.

Decide from Teams

If your organization connected Microsoft Teams, the VeriProof app sends you a personal card for each review assigned to you. Unless your organization turned it off, you can decide from that card. You can approve, reject with a reason, fill in the response the review asks for, or ask the application a question. Approving a high-priority review asks you to confirm you checked the details. The decision is recorded in VeriProof, noted as made in Teams, and reaches the application the same way.

When a review needs something Teams can’t collect, or details your organization keeps out of Teams, select Review in VeriProof and finish it here. To list your open reviews, overdue ones first, send reviews in your chat with the app or select Show your reviews. Send help to see what the app does.

To stop getting reviews in Teams, send help, select Disconnect my Teams account, and confirm. Your VeriProof account and reviews don’t change. To connect again, send help and select Connect in VeriProof.

Review work for an application you own

Your organization may require a different reviewer for application owners. When it does, reviews for an application you own normally go to other reviewers. If one reaches you anyway, VeriProof refuses your decision while someone else can decide, and explains why. Ask a review coordinator to reassign it.

On a small team, you may be the only person who can decide. The review shows Confirm and record. Select it to confirm that you’re deciding as the only eligible reviewer, then record your decision. The decision records that separation of duties wasn’t possible. Slack and Teams send you to VeriProof for this step.

Decision Reviewer access

Decision Reviewers open directly to assigned reviews. They can review only applications selected for their member account and only work currently assigned to them.

The template starts from Business Owner access and keeps only the capabilities needed to inspect and decide assigned application work.

The role does not include policy changes, application settings, integrations, user access, exports, routing administration, or delivery repair. An Administrator can change application scope under Settings → Team → Members.

Know what each decision does

  • Approve sends the response to the application. The application checks its rules and the current VeriProof policy again before it continues. VeriProof shows Application resumed only after the application reports that it continued.
  • Reject ends the paused path. The application must not continue that work.
  • Ask for information sends your question to the application and keeps the review open on the same page. VeriProof checks for the reply while the review is open. Earlier questions remain visible above the updated request.
  • Submit response uses the profile’s resume mode. It can resume with the requested answers, ask the application to revise the action, or keep it paused.
  • Cancel and Expired end the paused path without approval. The application must not continue it.

An email or sent response does not prove that the application resumed. VeriProof shows Application resumed only after the application reports what it did.

A recorded decision can’t be edited or deleted. If it needs correcting, an authorized person adds a correction with a reason, and the original stays in the history. A correction doesn’t undo anything the application already did.

If a session pauses more than one action, each review appears separately. Work that needs a response appears first; completed reviews remain available for reference.
